WAVA's staff is composed of professionals and specialists dedicated to making a virtual academy a very real learning experience. Here are some of the people who work behind the scenes to keep WAVA responsive to your needs:

Shalonda Griffith – Registration Support Specialist


Shalonda has been with K12 since August of this year after relocating from the great state of Texas.  She has  worked as a Campus Coordinator for the Communities in Schools Drop Out Prevention Program, as well as a Registrar for Department of Defense Schools in Wiesbaden, Germany.  She holds  an Associates degree in Fine Arts, Bachelor's degree in Psychology and is currently working on her Master's degree in Dance Education with the University of Northern Colorado's Graduate Extension Program, and is certified in EC-12 Health and 8-12 Dance.

2016-2017 marks Alissa’s 9th year with K12.  She worked with iQ Academy for 7 years and transitioned to WAVA in 2015, where she now provides support for the Operations team.  She graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor’s degree in English.

Danielle Beyer - Assessment Coordinator

Danielle Beyer

Danielle Beyer is beginning her fourth year with WAVA as the Assessment Coordinator. She came to WAVA from a local school district where she worked with Assessment, Curriculum Reviews, and Grant Management. At WAVA, she oversees the scheduling of all state assessments for students, from Smarter Balance exams and Graduation Requirements, to ELL screenings and Hearing and Vision. Danielle believes that education can change lives, and that opportunities are created out of each student’s efforts to succeed. Danielle received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Physics from Cornell College.
